Sneak peek - Something new and exciting is coming!

In case you missed it for the past few months, I've been busy working on a rebrand, new and improved website, and producing content to grow my new website. We’re almost ready to show the new site and brand to the world.

As part of the launch I’ll also be starting a paid weekly newsletter, sharing my journey to increasing my blog traffic, and making $20k / month as a content marketer.

Can you do me a quick favour?

Okie dokie, now onto this week's topic...

I recently saw someone share the following in a blogging group that I’m a part of:

“I seriously have no ideas for blogging. Which is funny, because I have a journalism degree and have worked in corporate communications. But all of those things are based on interviews or other people's projects. I don't feel particularly passionate about anything. Suggestions?”

Can you relate? If yes, well, you’re not alone.

So here’s a different perspective that has helped me, and you may find it useful too.

I once saw Elizabeth Gilbert speaking on stage in Sydney as part of her Big Magic book tour. One thing that stuck with me was her suggestion that we stop worrying about finding our "passion" and instead follow our "curiosity."

With this in mind, here are four questions to get you thinking…

  • What makes you curious?
  • What do you read, research, watch, study, or think about often?
  • What do you do for fun?
  • What do people often ask you about?

Grab a pen and paper or your fave note-taking app, and write down your answers to these questions. You may be surprised at your answer.

Here are this week's 5 resources:

1. The Rise of One-Person Businesses (OPBs) | George Samuels

An OPB stands for “One-Person Business”, and it's gaining in popularity.

A while ago, Paul Jarvis (co-founder of Fathom Analytics, an awesome privacy-focused alternative to Google Analytics that I use for all my websites) published "Company of One." You may have read it. He talked about similar ideas.

In this article, George Samuels shares why he's focusing on building an OPB and the benefits of such a business model.

2. Six Predictions About AI in Content Marketing - Animalz

If you're a content marketer and think that AI isn't going to impact your job very soon... you haven't been paying attention. Here are six predictions about how AI is going to change content marketing.

3. Twelve Side Hustles That Still Make Money in 2022, According To People Who Do Them Every Day

A side hustle can increase your monthly income significantly with a time commitment of just a few hours a week. It can also support you with extra money when unexpected work circumstances arise.

Here are the side hustle ideas that are popular now, along with stories from people who are using them to make extra money every month.
